    rx7monster86, they do it because the rotary junk that was in it is now under somebody sink, doing kitchen duty. American V8’s are the rule, you either get one or you get spanked….period. Got anything to compete with this nasty turbo AMERICAN V8? Didn’t think so……

    Hey rx7, you’re a douche bag. Nelson Racing does not need to build rotary engines. He builds the baddest AMERICAN engines on the planet. His “American Junk” as you put it is dead nuts reliable. Build a rotary with the kind of power this thing put out and then post a video of it driving all over the place in the heat on pump gas in traffic. Do that and I’ll never post anything on YouTube again.

    well i bet my left nut on this particular rx7 in the video is front heavy,lol, you may be right on a FD ls1 swap, I could have swore though that the 13b only wieghed like 330lbs, and I was sure that a ls1 weighed 460lbs, almost positive, but what ev.

    An LS1 with a T56 is only about 20lbs heavier than a 13b with its tranny.

    The turbos and supporting manifolds for the rotary are very heavy.

    The LS1 is an all aluminum engine with a plastic intake manifold. It is very light. Only about 400lbs with everything on it.

    The 13b itself may be lighter.Once you add all the supporting components, they equal out.
